Hansi:- Deputy Commissioner Rahul Narwal toured the city on Thursday afternoon to inspect various ongoing development projects, sanitation arrangements, and works related to the drainage system. During this visit, he directed officials to expedite development works, conduct city-wide sanitation drives more effectively, and ensure that issues concerning the general public are resolved on a priority basis.
During the inspection, the Deputy Commissioner took stock of the various development projects currently under construction in the city and sought updates on their progress from the concerned officials. He issued clear directives that all development works must be completed within the stipulated timeframe and to a high standard of quality, ensuring that citizens can benefit from these amenities as soon as possible. He emphasized that no form of negligence or unnecessary delay in development works would be tolerated.
Reviewing the ongoing sanitation drive in the city, Deputy Commissioner Rahul Narwal directed the concerned departments to further strengthen the sanitation infrastructure and arrangements.
He stated that a clean environment is absolutely essential for the health of the citizens and that no laxity whatsoever would be permitted in this regard. He instructed officials to accelerate sanitation activities while conducting regular monitoring.
He also inspected the drain constructed for the disposal of wastewater in Dayal Singh Colony. During this visit, he interacted with the local citizens as well. The citizens informed him that some individuals had illegally connected their toilets to this drain, creating a situation where filth is spreading and the overall drainage system is being compromised. Responding to this, he directed the concerned officials to immediately issue notices to such individuals and to have the illegal toilet connections removed with immediate effect.
The Deputy Commissioner asserted that the misuse of public amenities would not be tolerated under any circumstances. He directed officials to conduct regular inspections to ensure the smooth functioning of the city's drainage system and to take strict action, in accordance with the rules, wherever illegal connections are discovered. He stated that the administration's objective is to provide citizens with clean, well-organized, and improved basic amenities. To this end, development works are being continuously monitored, and officials have been instructed to discharge their duties with accountability.
On this occasion, officials and employees from the concerned departments—including CMGGA Pratiksha Sangwan—were also present.
