Nawanshahr:- Deputy Commissioner Nawanshahr Gurpreet Singh Aulakh on Wednesday flagged off Livasa Hospital’s mobile cancer screening bus. The initiative has been launched by the hospital to mark Breast Cancer Awareness Month.

The specially equipped bus will offer digital mammography, Pap smear tests and prostate-specific antigen (PSA) tests. These facilities will help screen for breast, cervical and prostate cancers. The initiative aims to raise awareness among community members about early cancer detection, appropriate medical consultation and necessary follow-up treatment.

SSP Tushar Gupta attended the event as the guest of honour. Other prominent guests included District and Sessions Judge Jatinder Pal Singh Khurmi, Civil Surgeon Dr Aman Sood, Senior Medical Officer Dr Ajay Basra, Livasa Hospital Director of Medical Oncology Dr Jatin Sareen, Director of Radiation Oncology Dr Meenakshi Mittal and Director of Surgical Oncology Dr Vijay Bansal.

Highlighting the importance of the initiative, Livasa Hospitals CEO Anurag Yadav said, “Healthcare should reach people where they live rather than remain confined within hospital walls. Through this screening bus, we are taking an important step towards making preventive healthcare accessible to every community.”
