Karnal, May 26:- In accordance with his scheduled itinerary, DC Anand Kumar Sharma arrived at Village Shahpur in the Chirao Block on Monday evening for a night halt. Here, he listened to the villagers' grievances and resolved them on the spot. He stated that the issues faced by the general public would be resolved in a time-bound manner, and priority would be accorded to development works related to the people's basic necessities.
During the night halt, Sarpanch Chandrabhan welcomed DC Dr. Anand Kumar Sharma with a floral bouquet and apprised him of the collective issues facing the village. On this occasion, Block Committee Chairman Satish Dadupur honored the DC by presenting him with a shawl. Meanwhile, the newly elected member of District Council Ward No. 10, Pala Ram Dadupur, honored ADC Dr. Rahul Raiya.
During the night halt program, the Gram Panchayat and other villagers presented approximately 61 grievances—pertaining to both personal and collective issues—before the DC. These issues primarily related to the construction of permanent houses, water drainage systems, electricity supply problems within the village, processing of pension applications, rectification of income details in Family IDs, issuance of BPL cards, allocation of space for pottery workshops, allotment of land for community centers (*Chaupals*) for the Bhimrao Ambedkar and Valmiki communities, demarcation of land for bone-crushing units, removal of illegal encroachments from the village pond, and road construction works.
Most of these issues were resolved on the spot, while instructions were issued to officials of the concerned departments to take necessary action regarding the remaining grievances, including a directive to complete road construction works within one month. During this interaction, DC Dr. Anand Kumar Sharma directed the Block Development and Panchayat Officer to arrange for lighting facilities at the girls' volleyball ground as soon as possible, emphasizing that the villagers should not have to return with complaints regarding this issue again, but rather should return to offer their thanks once the work is completed.
**HPV Vaccination Mandatory for Girls**
Speaking on this occasion, DC Dr. Anand Kumar Sharma stated that HPV vaccination is mandatory for girls as a preventive measure against life-threatening diseases such as cervical cancer. This vaccination is safe and has no adverse side effects on the health of girls. The government is providing the HPV vaccination free of cost to ensure the optimal health of girls. He appealed to parents to ensure that their daughters receive the HPV vaccination. Furthermore, he stated that the first phase of the 2027 Census is in its final stages and is scheduled to be completed by May 31; he urged all citizens to participate in the census and provide accurate information.
Present on this occasion were ADC Dr. Rahul Raiya, SDM Devender Sharma, DSP Sandeep Kumar, Block Committee Chairman Satish Dadupur, District Council Member Palaram Dadupur, and Village Sarpanch Chandrabhan, along with officials from various departments.
