Ambala, July 25:- DAV Senior Secondary Public School Ambala city organized a three-day program dedicated to Kargil Vijay Diwas under the Hindi Literature Club in which various patriotic activities were organized for the students.
Club incharge Mrs. Tanu Priya said that in this program, students of classes VI to XII participated in the activity of writing letters to soldiers and a quiz competition based on the Indian Armed Forces in which questions were asked about the Indian Army, military history, gallantry awards and national security.
During the school prayer meeting on July 25, students of classes 7 and 8, Dishita and Manya, paid tribute to the immortal heroes of Kargil through their speeches and poetry recitation. In the primary section too, the pre-nursery wing and UKG class under the leadership of Mrs. Manju Sachdeva also performed with great enthusiasm. The students of class 12th brought joy to the atmosphere with an action dance performance while the children of nursery and LKG presented a fancy dress show dressed as freedom fighters. The students of class 2nd presented a patriotic group dance.
The coordinator of classes 3 to 5, Mrs. Vandana Sodhi, informed that the students participated in a poetry recitation competition on the topic “Salute to the Heroes”. Many students reached the school carrying the tricolour which coloured the entire campus with patriotic fervor.
Addressing the students, the school principal, Dr. Radha Raman Suri, said that Kargil Vijay Diwas is not just a commemoration of a historic victory but a day to fulfill one’s duty towards the nation. He appealed to the youth to join the Indian Armed Forces and various national services to serve the country.
The activities in-charge, Mrs. Gauri Vandana, specially informed the students about the increasing opportunities available for women in the Indian Armed Forces. The most emotional moment in the prayer meeting was when the Principal, all the teachers and the students lit the lamps and collectively paid homage to the immortal martyrs of Kargil.
At the closing ceremony, Principal Dr. Radha Raman Suri thanked the teachers in charge of Hindi Literature Club, Mrs. Hardeep Kaur, Mrs. Suman Sharma, Mrs. Raj Channa, all the coordinators, activity incharges and assistant teachers for this successful and inspiring program.
