Garhshankar, September 27:- The CPI(M) today burnt an effigy of the Chief Election Commissioner of India here. On this occasion, Gurnek Singh Bhajjal, Darshan Singh Mattu, Mahinder Kumar Baddowan and Kulwinder Singh Sangha said that, according to them, irregularities were being committed in voting by the Election Commission of India. They claimed that 96.88 crore votes had been deleted in the country, which they said amounted to 14 per cent of the votes. They said that this was the reason Amit Shah was talking about ruling for 50 years.
They further said that on the same basis, the Form 6 that had been prepared contained a provision of this nature, under which a person seeking to register a new vote was being asked to provide proof dating back to 2003, which they termed unconstitutional. They alleged that Modi and Shah wanted to end the Constitution and implement the Manusmriti. They said that the Left parties and justice-loving people would not allow their plans to succeed.
On this occasion, Subhash Mattu and the above-mentioned leaders appealed to all comrades to reach in large numbers on October 6 and stage a dharna outside the residence of Jai Krishan Singh Rouri, where a memorandum regarding the demands of workers and farmers would be submitted. They called upon everyone to participate in large numbers.
On this occasion, Sukhwinder Kaur, Baldev Raj, Jagmohan Kaur, Kishan Singh and Balbir Singh addressed the gathering.
