Hoshiarpur:- In view of the law and order situation in the run-up to the Municipal Corporation Elections 2026, District Magistrate-cum-Deputy Commissioner Ashika Jain, exercising the powers conferred under Section 163 of the Indian Civil Safety Code, 2023, has issued orders for a complete ban on carrying any type of licensed arms/weapons, explosives, kirpans, spears, tokas, knives etc., which can be used to disturb peace and tranquility, within the limits of the Municipal Corporation Hoshiarpur till July 8, 2026.
This order will not apply to army personnel, paramilitary forces, police personnel, bank security guards, factory security guards, petrol pump owners, money exchange owners, jewellers shop owners, sports persons (those shooters who are members of the National Rifle Association and are participating in any event), persons who have been granted Z security or who have been granted personal security by the Hon'ble Court.
