Una, October 27:- Bimbo Kumari, a resident of Rakoh village in the Bangana subdivision, has lodged a complaint with the State Scheduled Castes Commission alleging that the common pedestrian pathway leading to her house has been blocked. On Tuesday, she submitted a complaint addressed to the Commission’s Chairperson to Commission member and advocate Dr. Vijay Dogra at the Commission’s office in Una, seeking restoration of the pathway and appropriate action in the matter. Bimbo Kumari was accompanied by her father, Uttam Chand, NCDHR State General Secretary Raj Mahe, and Balbir Chand of Hatli Panchayat.
Bimbo Kumari, who belongs to the Scheduled Caste community, has alleged in her complaint that her neighbours are attempting to forcibly construct a retaining wall on her private land to protect their house and cattle shed. According to the complaint, on October 24, a deep pit was dug using a JCB machine, blocking a common pedestrian pathway approximately 30 metres long that leads to her house. She alleged that this has affected the movement of her family members. The complaint also mentions alleged threats and threats of making her homeless.
Bimbo Kumari has urged the Commission to ensure the immediate reopening of the pathway, conduct an inquiry into the matter and initiate legal action in accordance with the rules over the alleged obstruction of the pathway and threats. Commission member and advocate Dr. Vijay Dogra assured her that appropriate action would be taken in accordance with the law.
