Karnal, May 12: Deputy Commissioner Dr. Anand Kumar Sharma has constituted a committee, headed by the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Zila Parishad, to determine the rates for materials utilized in government building construction projects. The committee comprises the District Food and Supplies Controller, the Executive Engineer of the Panchayati Raj Department, the Executive Engineer of the Public Works Department (PWD), and the Block Development and Panchayat Officer (BDPO) of Gharaunda, who will serve as its members.
The Deputy Commissioner was conducting a meeting with officials from the concerned departments at his office on Tuesday. He stated that the aforementioned committee would prepare and submit its report regarding the rates of materials used in government building construction as expeditiously as possible. The committee is tasked with ensuring that its recommendations regarding the rates to be fixed within the district are duly submitted.
Present at the meeting were Zila Parishad CEO Amit Kumar, DDPO Kanchanlata, Executive Engineer of the Panchayati Raj Department Narayan Dutt, along with officials from other departments.
Deputy Commissioner Directs Audit of Biogas Plant in Hasanpur Village
Separately, during the meeting, the Deputy Commissioner reviewed the progress of the biogas plant construction work in Hasanpur village, located in the Gharaunda block. During this review, he sought an explanation as to why certain construction activities for the biogas plant had been executed beyond the scope of the original proposal, and inquired about the source from which the necessary budgetary funds for these additional works would be managed. He further issued directives for a comprehensive technical and financial audit of the project to be conducted.
