Sahibzada Ajit Nagar, September 30:- The District Defence Services Welfare Officer, SAS Nagar, informed that a cleanliness drive was conducted by the District Defence Services Welfare Office, SAS Nagar, under the ‘Swachhata Hi Seva’ campaign. Officers, employees and ex-servicemen of the office, Sainik Rest House and Sainik Institute of Management and Technology, SAS Nagar, participated enthusiastically in the campaign.
During the drive, the entire Sainik Sadan building and the surrounding areas were cleaned. The objective of the campaign is to create awareness among people about cleanliness and motivate them to keep their surroundings clean.
On the occasion, Group Captain Davinder Singh Dhillon (Retd.), District Defence Services Welfare Officer, SAS Nagar, while providing information about the ongoing ‘Swachhata Hi Seva’ campaign, appealed to city residents to contribute towards keeping their city clean and pollution-free.
He said that garbage and waste should not be thrown on roads, public places, vacant plots and other open areas. He appealed to the people to dispose of garbage and waste only at the places designated by the Municipal Corporation and to promote the cleanliness campaign to the maximum extent, so that the city can be made clean through collective efforts.
