Sahibzada Ajit Singh Nagar, July 8:- "Clean environment is very important for a clean life and it is the responsibility of every citizen to maintain cleanliness around." This was said by Civil Surgeon Dr. Sangeeta Jain here today. She said that in order to prevent diseases like dengue and malaria during the rainy season, a special cleanliness campaign was launched today at all block level government health institutions of district SAS Nagar.
Under this campaign, under the leadership of senior medical officers, the roofs of health institutions, around buildings, water tanks, drains, coolers and other such places were cleaned, where there is a possibility of mosquitoes breeding due to accumulation of water during the rainy season. Dry leaves, garbage and unnecessary items were also removed during the cleaning.
On this occasion, the Health Department instructed all the staff to not allow water to stagnate around the health institutions and to ensure regular cleaning so that the spread of dengue and malaria can be effectively prevented. The Health Department also appealed to the people to maintain cleanliness in their homes and surroundings, not allow water to stagnate in coolers, pots, tires and other containers and cooperate with the Health Department to prevent dengue.
