Chandigarh, June 2:- Haryana Health Minister Aarti Singh Rao said that the main focus of the state government is to make the health services of the state more strong, safe and modern.
Talking to the media at her official residence in Chandigarh today, she said that to improve the arrangements in government hospitals of the state, cleanliness and security arrangements will be handed over on Public Private Partnership mode. The main objective of this step is to greatly strengthen the safety of women patients, nurses, doctors and other staff in hospitals.
The Health Minister, taking a tough stance on crimes against women, made it clear that the culprits will not be spared at any cost. In this context, he mentioned the case of sexual harassment of a minor girl at Lok Nayak Jaiprakash Civil Hospital in Kurukshetra and said that the police have registered a case against the accused consultant and the government has taken immediate action and terminated his services.
Aarti Singh Rao informed that the Government Medical College under construction in Charkhi Dadri district will be named after the great freedom fighter of the country, Rao Tularam. He expressed his gratitude to the Central Government and Haryana Chief Minister Naib Singh Saini for this naming. He specifically mentioned that Union Minister Rao Inderjit Singh was continuously making efforts for this naming. The Health Minister emphasized that with such efforts, our new generation will get an opportunity to know the supreme sacrifice and struggles of the great freedom fighters of the country closely. This medical college will not only establish new dimensions in the field of medicine, but will also become a great source of inspiration for the youth, which will motivate them to serve the country.
Reiterating her commitment to provide the best health facilities to the citizens of the state, Aarti Singh Rao said that the main priority of the government is to ensure the availability of gynecologists, anesthesiologists and pediatricians in all districts. Her main focus is to provide treatment facilities to women and children in government health institutions near their homes.
Giving information about the work being done in the health sector, she said that the government has started development works worth about Rs. 104.16 crore to strengthen the medical infrastructure in the state. Along with this, under the 15th Finance Commission, the construction of 766 new health institutions has been approved in the state, which includes 597 sub-health centers, 51 primary health centers, 7 community health centers and 111 block public health centers to strengthen the health system at the rural and town level.
Underlining the efforts to provide modern facilities and affordable medicines to the patients, the Health Minister said that tele-ECG services are being started in 600 health institutions of the state for the convenience of heart patients. Apart from this, 'Amrit Pharmacies' have been established in 23 district hospitals to make affordable and high quality medicines available to the general public. To ensure the availability of medicines in these pharmacies, he himself is also taking stock of the situation by conducting surprise inspections from time to time.
Linking environmental conservation and modern technology with the health sector, Aarti Singh Rao said that under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, green energy is being continuously encouraged across the country. In this direction, preparations are now being made to install solar plants in government hospitals, and the Haryana government is also taking rapid steps to implement this scheme at the ground level.
