Nawanshahr, March 29:- Punjab Health and Family Welfare Minister Dr. Balbir Singh on Sunday visited the Common Service Centers in Banga and reviewed the progress of making health cards under the 'Chief Minister's Health Scheme'. On this occasion, while interacting with the common people, he said that instead of waiting for any disease, they should get their health cards made in advance.
He asked the concerned departments including the Health Department to work in better coordination so that this public interest scheme can be implemented effectively and its benefits can be extended to every eligible person.
He said that the unique scheme of free treatment up to Rs. 10 lakh 'Chief Minister's Health Scheme' launched by the Punjab Government under the leadership of Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann is proving to be a boon for Punjabis. This scheme provides cashless treatment up to Rs. 10 lakh per family annually, through which the beneficiaries can get treatment in the listed government and private hospitals of Punjab.
He appealed to the residents to go to the designated Common Service Centers or camps to get their health cards made to avail the benefits of cashless treatment under the Chief Minister's Health Scheme.
Civil Surgeon Dr. Gurinderjit Singh, Deputy Medical Commissioner Dr. Harpreet Singh, Senior Medical Officer of District Hospital, Nawanshahr Dr. Satwinderpal Singh, Dr. Jaswinder Singh along with other officials and employees of the Health Department were present on the occasion.
