Chandigarh, December 24:- Haryana Chief Minister Shri Naib Singh Saini today flagged off the race dedicated to Atal Jan Seva organized by the personnel of batch number-93 of Haryana Police from Yavnika Park in Sector-5, Panchkula.
On this occasion, the Chief Minister said that this race organized in the memory of the birth anniversary of Bharat Ratna, former Prime Minister Hon'ble Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee Ji is a symbol of unity, discipline and the spirit of national service. He said that this evening, Union Home and Cooperation Minister Shri Amit Shah will administer the collective oath to the largest police passing-out batch in the history of Indian Police. This historic batch includes a total of 5,061 personnel, out of which 4,191 are male and 870 are female personnel. Thus, 20.75 percent women participation has been ensured in this batch, which is a significant achievement in the direction of women empowerment.
**Target to increase women participation in Haryana Police to 25 percent
He said that in the year 2014, the participation of women in Haryana Police was only 3 percent, which has increased to more than 10 percent today. The state government has set a target to take it to 25 percent in the coming years.
Chief Minister Shri Naib Singh Saini also said that the role of Haryana Police in the comprehensive campaign being run against drugs in the state has been very commendable. The newly trained jawans will work as brand ambassadors of this campaign to spread awareness in the society.
He said that this race is the result of 39 weeks of rigorous training and is the beginning of putting into practice the values ??of policing and practical courses that the jawans have learned during the training. In this race, 4252 youth from villages and 809 youth from cities are marching together, which gives a powerful message of social unity and harmony of the entire Haryana.
The Chief Minister said that another noteworthy feature of this batch is that about 85 percent of the youth are BA and MA. Out of these, 2390 youth are below the age of 26 who will infuse new energy, modern outlook and efficiency in the Haryana Police.
He said that this race is not just a physical activity but is the result of self-confidence and discipline developed through training programs like Yoga, PT and self-defense. It is noteworthy that these youth also set a great example of social service by enthusiastically donating 1356 units of blood on 9th April 2025.
On this occasion, Kalka MLA Shakti Rani Sharma, former Assembly Speaker Gianchand Gupta, District President Ajay Mittal, Police Director OP Singh, Haryana Police Academy Director Dr. Arshinder Singh Chawla, Deputy Commissioner Satpal Sharma, Police Inspector Pankaj Nain, BJP State Vice President Banto Kataria, Om Prakash Devinagar, Deepak Sharma and other dignitaries were also present.
