Chandigarh, July 23:- Chief Minister Mr. Naib Singh Saini on Thursday chaired a meeting of the District Public Relations and Grievance Redressal Committee in Sirsa and listened to the problems of the people. After this, while talking to the media, the Chief Minister said that Haryana's Kinnu is the first fruit to get GI tag. With this GI tag, Sirsa's Kinnu has become known at the national and international level. He asked the farmers to maintain this identity by paying special attention to the production and quality of Kinnu. GI tag will increase the income of the farmers. Along with this, the Chief Minister also congratulated the farmers on getting GI tag.
Earlier, the Chief Minister honored progressive farmers, officials and experts who had made significant contributions in the process of getting GI tag for Sirsa's Kinnu. The Chief Minister felicitated progressive farmer Nikhil Mehta of Baraguda, progressive farmer Manoj Kumar of Ellenabad, progressive farmer Krishan Kumar of Dabwali and HDO Seema Kamboj and appreciated their efforts.
District Horticulture Officer Din Mohammad said that Sirsa's kinnu has become the first independent GI tag-getting agricultural product of the state of Haryana. Earlier, Basmati and Phulkari had jointly received the GI tag, but Sirsa kinnu has established its own identity as a special agricultural product of Haryana. Din Mohammad said that till now due to the absence of independent GI tag, Sirsa kinnu was sold mixed with kinnu of other states, due to which the farmers could not get the due price for their quality produce. Now, with the independent GI tag, the farmers will have the possibility of getting a better market price for their produce and the brand value of Sirsa kinnu will also be strengthened.
Government is working with the youth
Chief Minister In response to another question, the Chief Minister said that in Haryana, there was no problem during the CET and NEET exams and transport facilities were provided. The opposition has done the work of inciting and misleading the youth, but the government is working seriously with the youth. The opposition should look into its own pockets to see how the youth were treated. Prime Minister Narendra Modi's only vision is to make the youth powerful and strong.
On this occasion, Deputy Commissioner Shantanu Sharma, Superintendent of Police Deepak Saharan, Chairman of Nagar Parishad Sirsa Shanti Saroop, Chairman Rohtash Jangra, Chairman Dev Kumar Sharma, former political advisor to the Chief Minister Jagdish Chopra and other dignitaries were present.
