Gurdaspur:- Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann inaugurated a new sugar mill project and co-generation plant in Dinanagar. The capacity of Gurdaspur Cooperative Sugar Mill has been increased from 2 thousand tons to 5 thousand tons. The Chief Minister said that 2850 sugarcane farmers are supplying sugarcane to this mill in this mill, but with the start of this project, the number of farmers supplying sugarcane will increase to 7025. With this, the farmers will not need to go to distant mills, which will save their transportation and time.
He said that we are also increasing the quality of the sugarcane crop and with this mill, the hassle of going far and wide will also be reduced. The Chief Minister said that the price of sugarcane has been fixed at Rs 416 per quintal, which is more than the entire country. The Chief Minister said that if we increase any factory three times, then the labor will also increase three times and the production will also increase three times.
He said that this is a historic day and we should all work hard and follow the path shown by Guru Sahib. Speaking about the gathering of farmers in Chandigarh, the Chief Minister said that they have demands from the Center, which should be fulfilled by the Central Government because the Punjab Government keeps meeting the farmers from time to time.
He said that the Central Government should also pay attention to the demands of the farmers. Making a big announcement, he said that in the coming days we are going to start insurance of 10 lakhs for every family and even more big projects are coming for the people of the state and new recruitment of doctors is also being done. The Chief Minister said that wherever the rights of Punjab are talked about, the Punjab Government stands with it.
