Dhuri, August 18:- Chairman of Punjab Small Industries and Export Corporation, Dalvir Singh Dhillon, today initiated the construction of a bridge over the Dhanoula Drain on the approach road leading to agricultural fields in village Baliyan. The bridge, being constructed at a cost of ?50 lakh, will be approximately 40 feet long and is expected to significantly improve connectivity and ease the movement of farmers and residents of the village.
Speaking on the occasion, Chairman Dalvir Singh Dhillon said that the Punjab Government was giving special priority to strengthening rural infrastructure and ensuring better basic amenities for people living in villages. He said that construction and improvement of roads, bridges, drains and other essential infrastructure were being undertaken continuously to address local requirements and improve connectivity.
He said that the new bridge over the Dhanoula Drain would provide considerable convenience to farmers travelling to and from their fields and would make transportation related to agricultural activities smoother and safer. The project would also benefit other residents who use this route for their day-to-day movement.
Dalvir Singh Dhillon directed the concerned officials and the construction agency to maintain the highest standards of quality and ensure that the work was completed within the stipulated timeframe in accordance with the prescribed technical specifications.
The Chairman further said that development works across villages of the Dhuri Assembly Constituency were being prioritised on the basis of public needs and demands. He added that works related to basic infrastructure and public facilities were being taken up in a phased manner to ensure comprehensive development of the constituency.
Sarpanch Kuldeep Singh Baliyan, Block President Subedar Sukhwant Singh, member Gurtej Singh, Dr. Gurjant Singh, mason Kewal Singh and a large number of village residents were present on the occasion.
