Amritsar, March 20:- The 400th foundation day of Sri Kiratpur Sahib, established by the sixth Guru Sri Guru Hargobind Sahib Ji, will be celebrated by the Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee with Sikh traditions and Khalsa pomp and show. In this regard, Gurmat Samagam will be held on a grand scale at Gurdwara Sri Kiratpur Sahib on April 29, 30 and May 1, 2026. In this regard, a meeting of the sub-committee regarding the 400th foundation day celebrations of Sri Kiratpur Sahib was held today under the leadership of SGPC President Advocate Harjinder Singh Dhami, in which the outline of the events to be held regarding the centenary was drawn up. Giving information in this regard, SGPC President Advocate Harjinder Singh Dhami said that Sri Kiratpur Sahib is the holy land, which was settled by the sixth Guru Sri Guru Hargobind Sahib Ji and Sri Guru Har Rai Sahib and Sri Guru Harkrishan Sahib Ji also resided at this holy place. The 400th centenary of this holy place will be celebrated on a grand scale with the support of all Sikh organizations and Sangat. He said that Sri Akhand Path Sahib will be inaugurated on April 29 regarding the centenary and Rai-Sabai Kirtan Darbar will be organized. There will also be a Gurmat Samagam on April 30, in which the famous storytellers, musicians, dhadis and poets of the Panth will connect the Sangat with the history of the Guru. The main event related to the centenary will be held on May 1, 2026, in which prominent personalities including Singh Sahibans, Jathedars of Takht Sahibans, all religious organizations of the Sikh Panth, Nihang Singh Dals, Kar Seva Wale Mahapurkhas will participate. He said that the Shiromani Committee will send special invitation letters to all Sikh sects, Nihang Singh organizations, including prominent personalities. There will also be special Amrit Sanchar Samagam during the centenary celebrations. The Shiromani Committee President said that to inspire the Sangat regarding the centenary, the preacher Jathas of the Dharam Prachar Committee will go to village after village and conduct Gurmat Samagam. He appealed to the Sangat to participate in the centenary celebrations with their families.
