SAS Nagar, September 24:- The Career and Placement Cell, Government College, SAS Nagar, in collaboration with the District Bureau of Employment and Enterprises (DBEE), Sector-76, SAS Nagar, organised a Career Counselling Seminar today, at Seminar Room, GCMSIP.
The seminar was organised under the leadership of the Principal, Ms. Jaspreet Kaur Bains, and the guidance of Ms. Anureet Bhalla, Convenor, Career & Placement Cell.
The session was conducted by Ms. Sukhman Baath, Deputy Chief Executive Officer, DBEE, and Ms. Nabiha, Career Counsellor, DBEE, who provided valuable career-related information and guidance to the students.
Final-year students from various programmes, including BCA, BBA, B.Com., B.Sc. and others, participated in the seminar.
The resource persons provided information about the National Career Service (NCS) Portal, scholarship schemes for higher education, the Punjab Rozgar Portal, and various employment opportunities.
The students were also apprised of start-ups and entrepreneurship as career options, skill-oriented vocational courses and training programmes, as well as ITI courses and related career opportunities.
Practical guidance was provided on resume writing, resume preparation and creating professional resumes for effective job applications.
The students were also introduced to various resume-making and resume-enhancement tools, including Kickresume, Enhancv, Resume Genius and Resume Checker, to help them create professional and job-ready resumes.
The seminar aimed to enhance students’ awareness of opportunities related to employment, higher education, entrepreneurship, skill development and resume building, and to prepare them effectively for the job market.
The seminar concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by Prof. Gurpreet Kaur, who expressed gratitude to the resource persons for their valuable guidance and appreciated the students for their active participation.
