Hoshiarpur:- Bahujan Samaj Party state president Dr. Avtar Singh Karimpuri strongly condemned the desecration of the statue of Baba Saheb Dr. BR Ambedkar, the architect of the Constitution, in village Nurpur Jattan of Garhshankar assembly constituency and issued a direct warning to the government, announcing that if the police administration does not arrest the culprits within the next 72 hours, the Bahujan Samaj Party will launch a fierce struggle and hold a permanent dharna and in honor of Dr. Ambedkar, the BSP will hold a massive protest rally in village Nurpur Jattan on April 18.
? Karimpuri said that so far, the statues of Baba Saheb have been desecrated 9 times, but despite repeated demands, neither the AAP government of Punjab nor the BJP government at the center have made any proper security arrangements. He said that this silence of the governments proves that the mentality of both the central and Punjab governments is anti-Ambedkar.
?Dr. Karimpuri, under the 'Save Punjab Campaign', lashed out at the current government and said that the law and order has failed miserably, insults to the leaders of Dalits and backward classes will not be tolerated in Punjab. The repeated desecration of statues is part of some deep political conspiracy so that the social community can be disrupted.
Karimpuri said that the AAP government has used the name of Baba Saheb only to get votes, while in reality an attempt is being made to destroy his ideology, now we will not sit silently, Baba Saheb is our honor, dignity and pride. Dr. Karimpuri appealed to all the justice-loving people and BSP workers to reach the rally on April 18 in large numbers and expose the anti-people and anti-Ambedkar face of the government. In response to the questions of the journalists, Karimpuri strongly condemned the negative response given by the Punjab government in the Hon'ble High Court regarding the 16 percent dearness allowance of the employees and said that this step of the government is a complete blow to lakhs of employees of the state and raises questions on the government's intentions. He said that saying in this court that there is no money in the treasury and there is no plan to give DA in the near future is a very shameful statement. He questioned that if the government has crores of rupees for its propaganda and advertising, then how is the treasury empty for the rights of the employees who work day and night? Linking the issue of employees' rights with the party's ongoing 'Save Punjab Campaign', Karimpuri said that today every section of Punjab is suffering due to the wrong policies of this government. The main purpose of the BSP's campaign is to get the people of Punjab rid of such people-killing governments. The employees are the backbone of the state, and when the backbone itself is being weakened, the development of the state is impossible. The Punjab government should immediately release the withheld 16% DA of the employees.
