Hoshiarpur: Bharat Vikas Parishad will organize a 'Seva Pakhwada' (Fortnight of Service) from June 27 to July 10. Providing details, Sanjeev Arora, the Council's President and a prominent social worker, stated that the fortnight would commence on June 27—the birth anniversary of the Council's founder, Dr. Suraj Prakash—with a program at Shaheed Udham Singh Park.
Mr. Arora mentioned that, with the aim of spreading awareness about the importance of yoga among the masses, a decision has been made to hold daily yoga classes in the park, with the goal of continuing them consistently in the years to come. He stated that various service initiatives would be organized daily during this fortnight. These activities will include assisting needy families; adopting orphaned and economically disadvantaged children for their education; distributing medicines to needy patients; organizing free medical camps; raising awareness about blood donation; planting trees for environmental conservation; distributing Tulsi plants; conducting cleanliness drives; installing water vessels and feeders for birds; distributing clothes; raising awareness about eye and body donation; and other public welfare activities.
He remarked that Bharat Vikas Parishad has always worked for the public good with a spirit of service, values, cooperation, and dedication, and this 'Seva Pakhwada' is a significant step in that ongoing journey. The fortnight will conclude on July 10, coinciding with the Council's Foundation Day. On this day, the Foundation Day will be celebrated by serving meals to the needy at the 'Sanjhi Rasoi' (community kitchen).
In conclusion, Sanjeev Arora appealed to all social workers, Council members, and city residents to participate enthusiastically in this noble cause and join the campaign of humanitarian service by attending the various programs organized during the fortnight.
