Sahibzada Ajit Singh Nagar, September 15:- Under the directions of Senior Superintendent of Police Mr. Varun Sharma and SP Traffic Mr. Ramandeep Singh, a special awareness seminar was organised for students and teachers at Government Senior Secondary Smart School, Gige Majra, under the leadership of DSP Traffic Mr. Karnail Singh. The seminar was conducted by the Traffic Education Cell and ASI Janak Raj, In-charge, Sanjh Kendra City-1.
During the seminar, students were provided detailed information about following traffic rules, the harmful effects of drugs and the facilities available through Yuva Sanjh and Sanjh Kendras. They were motivated to stay away from drugs and focus their attention on studies, sports and other constructive activities.
The students were specifically made aware that minors should not drive vehicles without a driving licence. Wearing a helmet while riding a two-wheeler is a mandatory safety precaution for both boys and girls. They were also motivated not to use mobile phones while driving and to strictly follow traffic rules on the road.
During the seminar, students were informed about the 112 helpline for police assistance. They were also made aware that in case of online fraud or becoming a victim of cybercrime, they should immediately contact the 1930 Cyber Crime Helpline.
Police officials urged the students to follow traffic rules themselves and also encourage their family members and companions to remain aware and take precautions against drug abuse and road accidents.
