Una, August 21: An awareness camp for senior citizens was organized in Gram Panchayat Arlu under the State Action Plan (2026-27), facilitated by the Department of Social Justice and Empowerment, Una. Senior citizens and Panchayat representatives from Gram Panchayat Arlu actively participated in the camp.
During the event, senior citizens were informed about various important topics concerning their rights, welfare, and social security. Officials provided detailed information regarding departmental schemes and facilities available for senior citizens and urged eligible beneficiaries to make the most of these schemes.
The program was attended by District Welfare Officer (Una) Awas Pandit, Tehsil Welfare Officer (Una) Jatindra Kumar, Child Development Project Officer (Bangana) Vivek Kumar, Tehsil Welfare Officer (Bangana) Anup Singh, and Gram Panchayat Arlu Pradhan Lekhraj Bharti, along with other officials and Panchayat representatives.
Interacting with the senior citizens on this occasion, Awas Pandit listened to their issues and suggestions and welcomed their views. Additionally, the senior citizens were made aware of their rights and provided with essential information regarding departmental schemes.
The District Welfare Officer stated that the objective of such awareness camps is to inform senior citizens about their rights and the facilities provided by the government at the local level, ensuring that no eligible person is deprived of the benefits of welfare schemes. He affirmed that the department is committed to the dignity, safety, and welfare of senior citizens and is continuously organizing awareness activities in this regard.
