Bangana, June 15: The three-day district-level Piplu Fair, held in the Bangana subdivision, will be celebrated this year from June 24 to 26 with devotion, cultural fervor, and enthusiasm. Bangana SDM Sonu Goyal announced that auditions for local artists wishing to perform during the fair's cultural evenings will be held on June 18 and 19 at the Lata Mangeshkar Kala Kendra, Samoor Kalan. The auditions will commence at 11:30 AM on June 18.
Fair Committee Chairman and SDM Bangana, Sonu Goyal, stated that interested artists can apply at the SDM office in Bangana or via email at [email protected]. On-the-spot applications will also be accepted on the day of the auditions. Renowned artists and winners of national-level competitions will be exempted from the audition process.
**Inauguration via Traditional Procession and Flag-Hoisting Ceremony**
Mr. Goyal stated that the Piplu Fair will be formally inaugurated on June 24 with a traditional procession and a flag-hoisting ceremony. Special programs aligned with the region's folk traditions and religious beliefs will be organized.
He remarked that the Piplu Fair symbolizes the region's cultural identity, religious faith, and historical heritage. The participation of the administration, public representatives, and local residents will play a crucial role in its successful organization.
The SDM mentioned that the cultural evenings at this year's fair will be made particularly captivating. The cultural programs scheduled over the three days will provide a platform for local talent alongside Himachali folk artists.

A dog show will be a major attraction at the fair venue this year. Additionally, various government departments will set up exhibitions showcasing development schemes, public welfare programs, and departmental activities. The SDM stated that a grand 'Star Night' will be organized on June 26, the final day of the fair. Performances by renowned folk artists from Himachal Pradesh, alongside Punjabi singers, will serve as the main entertainment highlight for the audience.
