Una, April 6: Auditions for artists wishing to participate in the cultural evenings of the state-level Haroli Festival-2026 commenced on Monday at the Lata Mangeshkar Bhawan in Samur Kalan. On the first day of the auditions, approximately 25 artists—hailing from various districts of the state and seeking selection—showcased their talents. These auditions will continue on Tuesday, April 7, beginning at 11:00 AM. Notably, this year's Haroli Festival is being organized from April 11 to 14 at the Haroli Ground in Roda, situated on the banks of the Sombhadra River near the Haroli-Rampur Bridge.
Vishal Sharma, Chairman of the Fair Committee and SDM of Haroli, stated that interested artists may submit their applications at the SDM office in Haroli or send them via email. Applications will also be accepted on the spot on the day of the audition. Renowned artists and winners of national-level competitions will be exempted from the audition process.
The Haroli Festival—which is associated with the festival of Vaisakhi—is being given an even more culturally and traditionally vibrant form this year. For the first time, this festival is being hosted on the banks of the Sombhadra River, a landmark synonymous with the district's identity.
Mr. Sharma further informed that, in accordance with the directives of Deputy Chief Minister Mr. Mukesh Agnihotri, all preparations are underway to celebrate the festival in a grand manner, marked by collective public participation.
