Una, February 12. Towards economically empowering farmers, youth, and self-employed entrepreneurs, banks in Una district have disbursed loans worth ?2,686.43 crore by the third quarter of the financial year 2025-26. Of these, ?557.41 crore was provided to the agriculture sector and ?139.21 crore under the Pradhan Mantri Mudra Yojana, directly benefiting the rural economy and small enterprises.
Deputy Commissioner Jatin Lal provided this information while chairing a meeting of the District-Level Bank Advisory Committee. Satpal Singh Satti, MLA from the Una Assembly constituency, was also a special guest. The Deputy Commissioner stated that against the annual target of ?3167.11 crore by March 2026, ?2686.43 crore had been disbursed by December 2025, demonstrating satisfactory progress.
Total bank deposits in the district have reached ?16622.83 crore, registering an annual growth of 14.26 percent. Total loan disbursements have increased by 13.29 percent to ?5158.90 crore. The district's credit-deposit ratio stood at 31.04 percent. The Deputy Commissioner directed banks and related departments to make coordinated efforts to further improve this ratio.
He stated that Kisan Credit Cards have been distributed to 54,911 farmers by December 31, 2025. Education loans worth ?15.96 crore were also sanctioned in the December quarter. The Deputy Commissioner emphasized the need to accelerate loan disbursement in the primary sector, promote agricultural mechanization, and encourage small and cottage industries. He also directed that more farmers be linked to the Prime Minister's Crop Insurance Scheme.
Stressing on the effective implementation of social security schemes, he directed that unclaimed amounts be distributed to beneficiaries under the RBI's "Your Money, Your Right" campaign. Emphasis was also placed on increasing customer awareness and vigilance to prevent banking fraud.
Chief District Lead Bank Manager Sanjeev Kumar Saxena, RBI District Lead Officer Rahul Joshi, DDM NABARD Sabrina Rajvanshi, PNB RSETI Director Sudhir Kumar Sharma, and officials from various banks were present at the meeting.
