After reviewing the development works the departments were instructed to work in a timebound manner

Hoshiarpur- On the directions of Deputy Commissioner Ashika Jain, Additional Deputy Commissioner (G) Amarbir Kaur Bhullar today reviewed the ongoing development works in the district and stressed upon the officers to provide the benefits of welfare schemes to all eligible persons and expedite the works. While presiding over a meeting of officers of various departments at the District Administrative Complex, he also received information from the department heads about their work.
Meanwhile, the Additional Deputy Commissioner, while addressing the 'ANCARD' meeting, directed all the departments to work together to eradicate drugs in the district, so that this poison spread in the society can be eradicated from the root. He directed all the departments including the School Education Department, Health, Drug Controller, Excise and Taxation, Police Department to take all necessary action at their level to stop the misuse of drugs.
Addressing the road safety meeting, the Additional Deputy Commissioner directed to identify black spots and take safety measures so that no pedestrian becomes a victim of an accident.
Meanwhile, the Transport Department informed that under the Safe School Vehicle Policy, 157 school vehicles were checked in the month of September and 15 challans were issued. Similarly, the Police Department issued 5,330 challans in September as part of an enforcement campaign, which includes 444 on-the-spot fines and a total fine of Rs 2,26,500 was collected.
After this, he also reviewed the works of the Sainik Welfare Department, GST, Excise, District Environment Committee, UEIP, Swachh Bharat Abhiyan Urban, Solid and Liquid Waste Management, Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (Urban). He said that the aim of the district administration is to ensure transparency, quality and timeliness in development works. All the departments should ensure that the benefits of each scheme reach the common people. On this occasion, Assistant Commissioner Oishi Mandal, RTO Amandeep Kaur Sandhu, SDM Hoshiarpur Gursimranjit Kaur, SP Major Singh, DSP Jagir Singh and other department officials were present.
