Una, March 6: A workshop was held in Una district to effectively implement information, education, and communication (IEC) activities under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (Urban) 2.0. The workshop was organized by the City Level Technical Cell of the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (Urban) 2.0, and was attended by officials and employees from various urban local bodies in the district.
The workshop was chaired by Manoj Thakur, Joint Commissioner of the Una Municipal Corporation. He provided detailed information about the various provisions, objectives, and benefits of the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (Urban) 2.0 to the officials and employees present. He emphasized the importance of conducting a comprehensive IEC campaign at the municipal and ward levels to ensure that the benefits of the scheme reach every eligible beneficiary, ensuring that no eligible individual is deprived of the benefits.
On this occasion, Social Development Expert Manoj Kumar stated that eligible beneficiaries can apply online through the unified web portal of PMAY-U 2.0. Additionally, applications are also available through the nearest Lok Mitra Kendra and the respective local urban bodies. He stated that awareness activities are being conducted continuously at the municipal and ward levels to ensure that information about the scheme reaches as many people as possible.
He also stated that awareness campaigns will be conducted through IEC materials such as pamphlets, banners, and hoardings, through self-help groups, women's groups, local public representatives, and door-to-door outreach campaigns, so that as many eligible beneficiaries as possible can benefit from the scheme.
Attending the workshop were Baljeet Singh, Akashdeep Dhiman, Radha, Manjul Sharma, Lokesh Kumar, Harjinder Singh, Radha Rani, Sunita, Akash Bhatia, Anita Kumari, and Richi, along with other employees from various urban bodies in Una district, and Amanjeet, Ankita, Babli, Sushil Gupta, Abhishek, and Manoj Kaushik from the Una Municipal Corporation.
