Kharar, August 25:- A seventh state-level seminar was organized at Rayat Bahra University as part of the year-long series of celebrations dedicated to the 650th Prakash Parv (birth anniversary) of Sri Guru Ravidas Ji Maharaj, initiated by the Punjab Government. Mr. Kulwant Singh Pandori, MLA from Mehal Kalan and Chairman of the Punjab Legislative Assembly's Committee on Privileges, attended the seminar as the chief guest.
Also present on the occasion were Mr. Deepak Bali (Advisor on Cultural Affairs to the Punjab Government), Sant Baba Nirmal Das Ji (Head of Dera Sant Baba Pritam Das Ji), Prof. Manjinder Singh (Head of the Punjabi Department at Guru Nanak Dev University), Architect Santosh Kumari, Mr. Gurvinder Singh Bahra (Chancellor, Rayat Bahra University), Mr. Sanjay Kumar (Vice-Chancellor), Prof. L.K. Yadav (Registrar), Dr. Simarjit Kaur (Dean, Student Welfare), faculty members, and a large number of students.
Mr. Kulwant Singh Pandori stated that the great personality of Sri Guru Ravidas Ji Maharaj is not confined to any single class, religion, or region. His teachings convey a message of equality, love, brotherhood, truth, and human dignity to all of humanity. He noted that by raising his voice against social inequalities, Guru Sahib envisioned a society free from discrimination based on caste or any other factor.
He mentioned that documentary films are being screened via mobile LED vans in villages across Punjab to disseminate Guru Sahib's teachings to the younger generation. Drone shows are being organized in various assembly constituencies, and *Shobha Yatras* (processions) are being conducted from Kashi, Bathinda, and Faridkot to Sri Khuralgarh Sahib.
Referring to the concept of 'Begumpura', Mr. Deepak Bali stated that Guru Ravidas Ji envisioned a society based on equality. Prof. Manjinder Singh remarked that the message of equality delivered 650 years ago remains just as relevant today. Architect Santosh Kumari conveyed the message of working with diligence and integrity. Sant Baba Nirmal Das Ji inspired the students to embrace education, hard work, and virtuous qualities. Chancellor Mr. Gurvinder Singh Bahra described such seminars as a vital medium for connecting the new generation with the philosophy of the Guru Sahib. The Vice-Chancellor and the Registrar also urged the students to incorporate the teachings of the Guru Sahib into their lives. A special documentary film based on the life and teachings of the Guru Sahib was also screened on this occasion.
