Pehowa: In accordance with a tradition dating back to ancient times at the Saraswati Tirtha in Pehowa, devotees from across the country and abroad arrive in vast numbers for the annual four-day Chaitra Chaudas fair. They come to perform rituals and offer prayers for the peace of their ancestors' souls, reverently supplicating to the Almighty for the spiritual repose of their forefathers.
During this period, congregations arrive in the thousands; to ensure their safety and maintain law and order, officials from both the police and civil administrations make every possible effort. Their objective is to uphold the dignity of the devotees' religious sentiments while simultaneously maintaining the city's traffic flow, security, public order, and sanitation standards.
Furthermore, they strive to ensure that no devotee faces any inconvenience—a commitment for which officials conduct periodic inspections and checks.
