Chandigarh, September 30:- The Haryana Government is providing a monthly pension amount of Rs 13,68,25,600 to 42,758 eligible families every month in the state under the Ladli Social Security Scheme.
Giving information in this regard, Social Justice and Empowerment Minister Krishan Kumar Bedi said that parents in the state who have only daughters and do not have a son, either biological or adopted, are provided an amount of Rs 3,200 as monthly pension under the Ladli Social Security Pension Scheme. He said that during the current financial year, the state government has already provided an amount of more than Rs 82 crore 9 lakh 53 thousand 600 under the Ladli Social Security Scheme.
He said that the scheme, launched on January 1, 2006, on the lines of the Old Age Allowance Scheme, provides a monthly allowance or pension only to parents who have only a daughter. The scheme was started with an amount of Rs 300 per month, which has now been increased to bring it at par with other pension schemes.
Shri Bedi said that under this scheme, the benefit starts being provided when the mother or father reaches the age of 45 years for enrolment. Thus, the benefit of the scheme starts on the parents’ 45th birthday and is provided continuously for 15 years. Thereafter, after the parents complete the age of 60 years, they are included in the Old Age Samman Allowance Scheme. He said that in case of the death of either of the parents, the allowance is provided to the surviving mother or father.
The Social Justice and Empowerment Minister said that under the Ladli Social Security Scheme, the Haryana Government had earlier fixed the eligibility age at 55 years, which has now been reduced to 45 years, while the monthly allowance has also been increased to Rs 3,200 per month under the Old Age Samman Allowance Scheme.
Shri Krishan Bedi said that any family in which the single parents are permanent residents of Haryana and they do not have any son, either biological or adopted, and have only a daughter or daughters, is eligible to receive the benefit of the Ladli Social Security Scheme. To avail the benefit under this scheme, the family’s total annual income from all sources should not exceed Rs 2,00,000.
In addition, under this scheme, an eligible family becomes entitled to receive the benefit from the date after either of the parents attains the age of 45 years. He said that if the mother is alive, the benefit will be paid to the mother, and if the mother is not alive, the benefit will be paid to the father.
