40,000-page chargesheet against Bikram Majithia, Punjab Police unearths Rs 700 crore benami assets.

Chandigarh- The Bhagwant Mann government of Punjab has achieved another major success in its war against drug smugglers and corruption. The Punjab Vigilance Bureau has filed a 140-page chargesheet against former cabinet minister of the state Bikram Singh Majithia.

This final report prepared after the investigation includes about 45,000 pages of documentary evidence. And about 400 bank accounts have been examined. The report includes statements of more than 200 witnesses.
During this investigation, raids were conducted at 15 places in several states of the country, in which 30 immovable properties, 10 vehicles and 15 companies or firms belonging to Majithia were found, which are related to illegal assets acquired during his ministerial tenure.
The chargesheet states that Bikram Singh Majithia acquired assets 1200% more than his income during the investigation, with a total estimated value of Rs 700 crore. The entire matter has been presented in court along with evidence.
