Nawanshahr- The work of filling the breach near village Burj Tehal Das in the Satluj river embankment and constructing a ring embankment is continuing. Under the supervision of the Indian Army team, the district administration officials and residents of various villages are working to control the flow of water from the embankment side.
Deputy Commissioner Ankurjit Singh said that at present, along with filling the breach, embankments are also being constructed so that the nearby agricultural lands can be protected from any damage. He said that the situation is currently under control and the work on the embankment is being done properly by the Indian Army team and the villagers.
He said that no damage has been caused to the adjacent agricultural lands due to the breach and for further strengthening the embankment, a ring embankment is being constructed with machines which will prevent damage during the rapid flow of water. He said that the district administration is continuously monitoring the condition of the Satluj River embankment in the district and there is no need for people to panic.
