The NDRF team held a formal meeting with the Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADDC) regarding the Area Familiarization Exercise.

Una, October 6 – A team from the 14th Battalion of the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) held a formal meeting with Mahendra Pal Gurjar, Chief Executive Officer of the District Disaster Management Authority and Additional Deputy Commissioner, Una, on Monday. This meeting was part of the Area Familiarization Exercise, under which the NDRF team will conduct community exercises and awareness programs at various locations in the district from October 6 to 18.

Una, October 6 – A team from the 14th Battalion of the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) held a formal meeting with Mahendra Pal Gurjar, Chief Executive Officer of the District Disaster Management Authority and Additional Deputy Commissioner, Una, on Monday. This meeting was part of the Area Familiarization Exercise, under which the NDRF team will conduct community exercises and awareness programs at various locations in the district from October 6 to 18.
During the meeting, the Additional Deputy Commissioner held a detailed discussion with the NDRF team regarding the exercise and provided them with the District Disaster Management Plan, information on important locations, and a detailed profile of Una district. He expressed hope that this exercise would further strengthen the disaster management system and develop better disaster response capabilities at the administrative and community levels. He also stated that the results and conclusions of the exercise should be shared with the district administration.
Mahendra Pal Gurjar stated that the NDRF team of the 14th Battalion will conduct exercises in various sensitive and disaster-prone areas of the district to prepare for natural and man-made disasters, and will gather necessary information by conducting field inspections of the relevant sites.

*Awareness programs will be held here
The ADC stated that on October 8th, an awareness and capacity-building program will be held for students and staff at the Government Industrial Training Institute, Bhadrakali, in the Gagret subdivision, at 9:30 am. On October 9th, landslide-prone sites will be inspected in the Gharwas, Paroiyan Kalan, and Raipur areas of the Bangana subdivision. On October 10th, flood-prone sites around the Bharmauti Temple and Handola Bridge will be surveyed.
In the same sequence, information regarding vulnerable areas will be collected at the Mata Shri Chintpurni Temple in the Amb subdivision on October 11th. Awareness and capacity building programs will be held at Maharana Pratap Government Degree College, Amb, on October 13th at 9 a.m., at Government Degree College, Khad, on October 14th, and at Government Industrial Training Institute, Pandoga, on October 15th.
In addition, students and staff will be sensitized about disaster management at SVSD PG College, Bhatoli, on October 16th at 9 a.m., and at Him Gaurav ITI, Una, on October 17th. The program will conclude on October 18th with a sensitivity profile meeting with management officials at Indian Oil Corporation Limited (Indane Bottling Plant, Raipur Sahora) and IOCL, Pekhubela.
Inspector Sandeep Kumar, Team Leader and Inspector of NDRF 14th Battalion, Nurpur (District Kangra), and Dheeraj Kumar and Rajan Kumar, in-charges of the District Disaster Management Authority, Una, were also present on the occasion.
