
21,675 cases disposed of on the spot in National Lok Adalat; Awards worth Rs. 21 crore 2 lakh 92 passed.
Hoshiarpur:- Under the guidelines of Punjab State Legal Services Authority, SAS Nagar, District Legal Services Authority, Hoshiarpur today organized the third National Lok Adalat of the year at the district level. This Lok Adalat included cases under NI Act (Section 138), pending and pre-litigation bank recovery cases, labor disputes, motor accident claim petitions, electricity and water bills (except unamended), matrimonial disputes, traffic challans, revenue matters, other civil and small criminal matters and domestic disputes.

This Lok Adalat included cases under NI Act (Section 138), pending and pre-litigation bank recovery cases, labor disputes, motor accident claim petitions, electricity and water bills (except unamended), matrimonial disputes, traffic challans, revenue matters, other civil and small criminal matters and domestic disputes.
This Lok Adalat was organized under the chairmanship of District and Sessions Judge-cum-Chairman, District Legal Services Authority, Hoshiarpur Rajinder Agarwal. A total of 20 benches were formed on this occasion, including 9 benches in Hoshiarpur court, 2 in Dasuha, 2 in Mukerian, 2 in Garhshankar and 5 benches in revenue courts.
A total of 24,592 cases were heard in this Lok Adalat of Hoshiarpur district, out of which 21,675 cases were disposed of on the spot. During this, awards worth about Rs. 21,02,00,092 (21 crore 2 lakh 92) were passed between the parties.
Special help desks were set up by the police department for the convenience of people who came to file traffic challans, due to which the process of challan disposal remained smooth.
District and Sessions Judge-cum-Chairman Rajinder Agarwal and CJM-cum-Secretary, District Legal Services Authority Neeraj Goyal visited various Lok Adalat benches and reviewed the management. On this occasion, the officials of the Bar Association, Hoshiarpur also extended their full support.
The District Legal Services Authority appealed to the people to take maximum advantage of Lok Adalats, as it saves time and money and the decisions of Lok Adalat are final and without appeal, which increases mutual goodwill between the parties.
