
Deputy Commissioner reviews Jayanti Majri, Guda, Kasauli, Bhagindi and Karonde Wala villages
Sahibzada Ajit Singh Nagar, September 5:- Deputy Commissioner Samti Komal Mittal today reviewed Jayanti Majri, Guda, Kasauli, Bhagindi and Karonde Wala villages. The access road to these villages was washed away due to the high flow of water in Jayanti Ki Rao Nallah.
Sahibzada Ajit Singh Nagar, September 5:- Deputy Commissioner Samti Komal Mittal today reviewed Jayanti Majri, Guda, Kasauli, Bhagindi and Karonde Wala villages. The access road to these villages was washed away due to the high flow of water in Jayanti Ki Rao Nallah.
The Deputy Commissioner instructed the officials of Drainage Department, Public Works Department and Rural Development and Panchayat Department present with him to immediately construct a temporary road for the people of these five villages without delay.
He assured the people of these villages that the estimate for construction of three bridges on Jayanti Ki Rao Nallah for a permanent solution has been sent to the government and once it is approved, the work on these bridges will also start.
The Deputy Commissioner was accompanied by Additional Deputy Commissioner (Rural Development) Sonam Chaudhary, SDM Kharar Mrs. Divya P, Executive Engineer of Public Works Department Vivek Dureja, Executive Engineer of Drainage Department Khushvinder Singh, Powercom and other officials.
The Deputy Commissioner went inside all these villages and found out the problems of the people, which included mobile connectivity, the hurdle in the construction of the road going up from Karonde Wala due to non-obtained clearance from the Forest Department and other issues of the villagers. The Deputy Commissioner assured that action would be taken soon on the issues that could be resolved immediately and for the problems that would take some time to resolve, the villagers should cooperate with us till then.
He said that nature is powerless and the access road to these villages could not be maintained due to the rapid flow of water, for which the district administration has already initiated efforts to resolve it permanently. The Deputy Commissioner also warned people who are doing activities like off-roading in fast-flowing seasonal drains not to put their lives in danger by doing so. If they still do not stop doing so, appropriate legal action will be taken against them. He also appealed to the people to prevent themselves and their children from going near these drains in view of the rapid flow in seasonal rivers/drains.
The Deputy Commissioner appealed to the people to boil drinking water thoroughly during the rains, cool it and drink it and take precautions to protect themselves from water-borne diseases.
