
Ludhiana: Hosiery businessman's house catches fire, grandmother and grandson die, 8 people evacuated safely.
Ludhiana- A tragic accident took place in Ludhiana this morning. A terrible fire broke out in the house of a hosiery businessman near Bharat Nagar Chowk in the city, due to which the grandmother and grandson died of suffocation. According to information, 10 people were present on the first floor of the building when the fire broke out, out of which 8 were safely evacuated. But the grandmother and grandson died of suffocation.

The businessman had set up a yarn factory on the ground floor of the house, where the fire spread due to a short circuit. The fire was so fierce that more than 15 fire brigade vehicles reached the spot. The authorities had also evacuated the surrounding houses as a precaution.
According to the information, Rajat Chopra has a factory called Chopra in the street behind the petrol pump of Bharat Nagar Chowk, in which yarn and other goods are made. The factory is running on the ground floor of the house and he lives with his family on the upper floor.
Rajat Chopra said that this morning, the yarn suddenly caught fire and soon took a terrible shape. All the people of his family were present on the upper floor. The fire spread to the upper floor in no time. Due to which it was difficult to get out the people trapped there.
During this, a 77-year-old woman and a young man died due to suffocation in the fire. Currently, fire brigade officials and police personnel are investigating the scene
