
Jamhuri Kisan Sabha submits memorandum to Tehsildar regarding flood victims' problems.
Hoshiarpur- On the invitation of Jamhuri Kisan Sabha Punjab, the District Hoshiarpur unit, led by District General Secretary Dr. Davinder Singh Kakkon, Dr. Sukhdev Singh Dhillon, Balwinder Singh Gill, submitted a memorandum to Tehsildar Hoshiarpur regarding the problems of flood victims. The organization demanded that the heirs of the farmers and laborers killed in the floods be given a compensation of Rs. 10 lakh per family.

The organization demanded that the heirs of the farmers and laborers killed in the floods be given a compensation of Rs. 10 lakh per family.
The entire debt of the flood-affected farmers and laborers should be waived off, Rs. 70 thousand per acre should be given as compensation for the dead crops. In case the next crop is not sown, this compensation should be doubled. Rs. 1 lakh per acre should be given for the sugarcane crop.
Landless laboring families affected by the floods should be given compensation of Rs. 10,000 per family and free food and medicines, proper arrangements should be made to prevent diseases arising after the floods. Rs. 1 lakh per animal for dead buffaloes and cows, Rs. 10 lakh per house for collapsed houses, a lump sum of Rs. 1 lakh for all affected families affected by the floods, complete compensation should be given for the damage caused to tubewells, agricultural machinery, dairy farms, poultry, fisheries, sheep, goats, etc.
Compensation for crop damage should be given to every farmer, cultivator, settler, etc. for every field. The negligence and corruption committed by the government machinery during Girdawari should be stopped in advance so that the compensation can be given to the real beneficiaries, the cost of fuel for leveling the land should be paid and the needy farmers should be provided with machinery and agricultural tools. Arrangements should be made for seeds and fertilizers for the coming crop. Land ownership rights should be given to the settled farmers.
Land should be given in exchange for the land that has been eroded by the river, rivers should be channelized and canalized, damaged bridges, roads, schools, hospitals, embankments etc. should be rebuilt in the flood-affected areas and funds should be arranged for the overall development of the Mand/Bet area. On this occasion, Parduman Singh, Gurcharan Singh, Malkit Singh Salempur, Om Prakash Salempur, Gian Singh, Rajinder Singh Kakkon, Jagtar Singh Sator, Mangal Singh Miani, Sukhdev Singh Miani etc. were present.
