Haryana Home Department Additional Chief Secretary Dr. Sumita Mishra while giving this information here today said that now citizens can report incidents of cyber fraud, financial scams, theft and online harassment through the portal (www.cybercrime.gov.in) or by calling the helpline number 1930. This step is expected to ensure timely filing of complaints, prompt response of the police and better inter-departmental coordination.
Dr Mishra said that the Home Department has issued comprehensive cyber security instructions to create a strong digital security mechanism in all government departments and citizen services.
He said that a six-point action plan has been prepared for immediate implementation across the state. Under this framework, cyber security modules will now be included in all digital literacy programmes and public awareness campaigns at the state and district levels.
Along with this, authentic information and guidance will also be provided to the citizens through the official Cyber ??Mitra social media handle of the Home Ministry.
He said that the information of helpline number 1930 and cyber reporting portal will be prominently displayed at public information centres, police stations, government offices and other government facilities. Cyber ??security awareness will also be included in all the schemes and programmes of the state government so that the beneficiaries can get continuous guidance on digital security.
Schools and teacher training programs are being made mandatory to include cyber security topics in their syllabus to ensure that digital security awareness reaches both students and teachers across Haryana. Dr Mishra said that citizens should report cyber crimes immediately, so that the chances of action and recovery against the criminals are better.
