Lalru (Sahibzada Ajit Singh Nagar), September 2: Constituency MLA S. Kuljit Singh Randhawa visited the affected villages near Ghaggar River for the third consecutive day today. Along with this, he also distributed relief kits to the needy people in Tiwana.
He, along with the agriculture officials, reviewed the situation of damage to agricultural land in Sadhapur and Dangdehar villages and assured the farmers that the government will soon conduct a Girdawari and provide necessary assistance.
Apart from this, MLA Randhawa also visited Tiwana Dam and along with taking stock of the current situation, he also encouraged the affected families by distributing relief materials.
He assured the residents of the area that the departmental teams are working day and night to strengthen the Ghaggar River so that the people do not face any problem. He said that he himself is monitoring the situation by maintaining constant coordination with the tehsil administration, police officials, revenue department officials and drainage officials.
