Hoshiarpur- Deputy Commissioner and District Red Cross Society President Ashika Jain said that at present the entire Punjab is struggling with the flood disaster. In such difficult times, while the government is providing all possible help to the affected families, social welfare organizations, voluntary organizations, companies and educational institutions are also coming forward and performing their duty of humanity by making their significant contribution.
She said that in this series, about 15 members of the Lady Wing of Red Cross Hospital Welfare Section, Hoshiarpur, with mutual cooperation, collected Rs 80,000 and presented it to the District Red Cross Society. This amount has been provided especially for the help of flood affected families.
Deputy Commissioner Ashika Jain thanked the members of the Welfare Section for this contribution and said that this step of theirs is a source of inspiration for others. He appealed to the philanthropists, industrialists and social organizations of the district to come forward to help the flood affected families.
District Red Cross Society Secretary Mangesh Sood said that by making this contribution, the members of Red Cross Hospital Welfare Section, Hoshiarpur have assured that they are always standing with the flood affected families and will provide all possible help in the future if any need arises.
Executive Committee Members Rakesh Kapila, Kuldeep Kohli, Nisha Vij, Kumkum Sood, Dolly Cheema and Joint Secretary Aditya Rana were specially present on the occasion.
