
Teachers donate Rs 1 lakh to help flood victims.
Hoshiarpur:- The Education Department has once again taken a commendable initiative to help the flood-affected people, fulfilling its social responsibility. Due to the recent heavy rains, many villages in the district were submerged in water, which caused huge losses.

To help the affected families, the teachers of Hoshiarpur Block One-A, One-B and Block 2-A and 2-B jointly collected an amount of Rs 1 lakh, which was presented to SDM Gursimranjit Kaur for the Red Cross Relief Fund under the leadership of Deputy District Education Officer (Elementary) Amandeep Sharma.
On this occasion, Amandeep Sharma said that the teaching community is not limited to education only, but is also always at the forefront in fulfilling social responsibilities. He said that the floods washed away the houses of many people, made it difficult to get food and also affected the livestock. In such circumstances, the teachers have collected this amount through collective efforts.
He said that the pond fills up drop by drop and if we all help together, the suffering of the affected families can be reduced to some extent. On this occasion, Chandra Prakash Saini said that he himself visited the flood-affected areas and saw the difficulties there closely. He said that the government is continuously providing relief and in such a time, the contribution of teachers to the Red Cross Fund is a very commendable step.
He also said that during her visit to the flood-affected areas, Deputy Commissioner Ashika Jain had instructed the SDM to deposit this assistance amount in the Red Cross Fund. SDM Gursimranjit Kaur appreciated this initiative of the teaching community and thanked them for their contribution. BPEO Charanjit Kumar was also specially present on this occasion.
