He further said that if we want to make our new generation ideal citizens, we will have to take them out of the internet trap and take them for a walk in the garden of books. The personality of students who read children's literature books and magazines becomes healthy and up to date. Therefore, today it has become very important that we hand over interesting and healthy books to our children so that they can become ideal citizens by being equipped with moral values.
He appreciated Nikkiya Karumbalan Prakashan and Sur Sangam Vidyaik Trust for the fact that the institution is providing thousands of rupees worth of magazines and children's books as gifts to students and heads of institutions as part of its efforts to create a book culture. Baljinder Mann and the Karumbalan family have been playing an active role in this selfless effort for the last three decades.
Presiding over this event, National Youth Awardee and Deputy Chief Warden of District Hoshiarpur Civil Defense Pramod Sharma, Actor Director Ashok Puri, Balbir Singh Kamal, Kamal Kanth, Vijay Sethi, Rajesh Kumar, Vijay Rana said that with the continuous publication of Nikkiya Karumbalan, Baljinder Mann has set a record and got its name registered in the India Book of Records.
This is the only children's magazine in the private sector in Punjabi to be published continuously for three decades in the whole world. Today, Punjabis living in different countries of the world are reading this magazine and its site has been made available free of cost to readers from all over the world.
On this occasion, Sukhman Singh performed the responsibility of conducting the stage well. The function was attended by Bagga Singh Artist, Chanchal Singh Bains, State Awardee Jagdish Singh, Raghuveer Singh Kalo, Harveer Mann, Manjit Kaur along with directors of various social service organizations and literature lovers. Kuldeep Kaur Bains thanked everyone and said that connecting with the word is the best work.
