S.A.S. Nagar, July 15 - In a road accident on MGF Road in Sector 105, Mohali, a Nilgai, which came on the road in search of dry place, was hit by a car. Tavleen Singh, who was passing by, informed about the accident by calling the helpline number of Gau Grass Seva Samiti. After this, the injured Nilgai was rescued and brought to Gau Hospital in Phase 1, Mohali for treatment.
Harkesh Singh, Chief Secretary of the Samiti, said that the treatment of Nilgai is going on in Gau Hospital under the supervision of the Forest Department team and the Gau Grass Seva Samiti team. He said that after initial treatment, the doctors working in Gau Hospital said that the hind leg of the Nilgai is completely broken, which will have to be amputated through surgery.
He said that last Friday night also the Samiti team had rescued two such cases from Mohali Airport Road, and due to the rainy season, the number of such accidents is increasing day by day.
