Regional Transport Authority Inderpal, while holding a meeting with farmers, arhtiyas and combine harvesters at the local district administrative complex, said that it should be ensured that the combines are operated only during the specified time. He said that this time is from 10 am to 6 pm during which the machines will be operated to keep the moisture content of the paddy at the specified level (17 percent) so that the farmers do not face any problem while selling their crop.
He said that if the moisture content in the crop is high, then there may be a delay in the purchase. For which special care should be taken of moisture. Regarding the procurement of paddy, RTA Inderpal said that this time the government is likely to start the procurement of paddy from September 16, for which the combine owners should strictly follow the instructions of the Punjab government.
He said that as per the instructions of the Punjab government, the officers of the Agriculture Department and the Police Department will be vigilant about the use of combines in the district. He said that if any combine is found violating the stipulated time, appropriate action will be taken against it. Chief Agriculture Officer Rakesh Kumar Sharma said that it should be ensured that harvesting is done only by installing combine and super SMS machines.
District Food Supply Officer Jitin Verma told the combine owners that the combine harvesters should ensure that only the ripe crop is harvested so that the farmers do not have to face any inconvenience. The combine owners assured the district administration that the combines will be operated within the stipulated time.
