Shivraj Chauhan and Ravneet Bittu visit flood-affected areas of Gurdaspur.

Gurdaspur- Union Agriculture Minister Shivraj Chauhan today visited the flood-affected areas of Dera Baba Nanak and Behrampur in district Gurdaspur. Union Minister of State Ravneet Singh Bittu and State Agriculture Minister Gurmeet Singh Khudian were also present on this occasion.

Talking to the flood-affected people at village Dharamkot Randhawa near Dera Baba Nanak, Shivraj Chauhan said that he has assessed the damage caused by the floods in the border area of ??Punjab today. He said that the floods have caused a lot of damage to crops and livestock. He said that the central government is assessing the damage caused by the floods and every flood-affected person including farmers will be provided with possible help.
After this, Union Minister Shivraj Chauhan visited village Dharamkot Pattan on a tractor and spoke to the flood-affected people. After this, he also visited Behrampur near Dinanagar. State Agriculture Minister Gurmeet Singh Khudian while talking to Union Minister Shivraj Chauhan said that a total of Rs 71 crore has been released by the state government as an immediate measure to deal with this situation.
He said that in the first phase, Rs 35.50 crore has already been released to all the districts, now another amount of Rs 35.50 crore has been approved for the 12 most flood-affected districts. He demanded from the Union Minister that the Central Government should come forward to help the flood-affected farmers and people and give a special relief package to Punjab.
