
Cultural Moonlight Program – A Celebration of Life and Togetherness
Chandigarh:- The Chapter Moonlight Unit of Chandigarh Senior Citizens Association organized a grand “Cultural Moonlight Program” at the renowned Tagore Theatre. This annual event is held on the eve of International Senior Citizens’ Day. The program witnessed overwhelming enthusiasm from members and guests. The auditorium was packed to capacity, resonating with applause and cheer.

The auditorium was packed to capacity, resonating with applause and cheer.
To grace the occasion, Mr. Saurabh Kumar Arora, Director, Department of Cultural Affairs, Chandigarh Administration, attended as the Chief Guest. Several eminent personalities were present as Guests of Honour, including J.B. Goyal, Dr. Raj Bahadur, Prof. Arun Kumar Grover, Prof. B.S. Dhillon, Prof. (Dr.) Jagat Ram, Prof. S.S. Chahal, Mr. Balkar Sidhu, Subhash Aggarwal, Brijesh Ahuja, Abhishek Sharma, Jasbir Singh, and Mohinder Kaur among others.
Welcoming the audience, Chapter Head Raghubir Singh stated –
“Chapter Moonlight was formed two years ago as a ray of hope to combat loneliness among senior citizens. Such gatherings are not a luxury but a necessity for human emotions.”
The cultural evening was entirely presented by senior and super senior citizens along with their family members. The program featured soulful songs, duets, and vibrant performances. Group dances and Giddha were the main highlights, earning standing ovations and resounding applause. Every performance symbolized enthusiasm, artistry, and the spirit of life.
The program commenced with the Chapter Moonlight theme song – “Moonlight hai chapter saada, Senior Citizens member saare” – sung by renowned artists Amar Veerdi and Deepak Ricky. This was followed by the song “Ajj teri bachna na bachdi ve…”. The dance performance by Dr. Sarvan Kaushal and Damanjeet captivated everyone. The famous ghazal by Ghulam Ali “Hum tere shehar mein aaye hain…” was rendered beautifully by Sharanjeet Nayar. S.K. Awasthi’s rendition of “Roshan tum hi se duniya…” left the audience deeply moved.
The evening concluded with the beats of dhol, boliyan, and tappas, as the entire auditorium reverberated with applause.
