Una, September 2- Achieving an unprecedented feat in the field of veterinary medicine, the expert team of Multidisciplinary Veterinary Hospital, Laldi has set an example by saving the life of a seriously injured wild Sambhar baby. This life-saving work was successfully carried out by the team of veterinary surgeons Dr. Manoj Sharma, Dr. Navneet and Dr. Neha.
Dr. Manoj Sharma said that the injured Sambhar was found in the forests around Una. Due to attack by a wild animal, its entire jaw, teeth and bones were also badly damaged. On the information of the local people, the Forest Department took immediate action and with the help of Radha Madhav Gaushala brought this injured animal to the Multidisciplinary Veterinary Hospital, Laldi.
Seeing the seriousness of the situation, Dr. Sharma declared it an emergency and decided to do immediate plastic surgery. Due to excessive bleeding and respiratory obstruction, this Sambhar was swinging between life and death.
He told that in this complex surgery which lasted for about 4 hours, both the nostrils of the animal were artificially constructed. The broken bones of the jaw were joined by taking bones from other parts of the body, and the skin of the jaw was given a new shape through plastic surgery.
During this, the breathing of the animal was operated artificially for about two hours. This is not only a medical achievement, but an excellent example of animal welfare and modern veterinary science, which gave a new lease of life to a tiny life.
* Multidimensional veterinary hospital Laldi emerged as a boon for animal keepers
Multidimensional veterinary hospital Laldi has emerged as a boon for animal keepers of Una as well as the surrounding Punjab areas. Modern medical facilities like echocardiography, elastography, ultrasound, orthopedic surgery, eye surgery, cardiac and thoracic surgery, caesarean operation etc. are available here.
This institute is becoming popular as “PGI of Animals” in the treatment of animals. With the efforts of Deputy Chief Minister Mukesh Agnihotri, a state-of-the-art ultrasound machine has been installed in this multi-functional veterinary hospital at a cost of Rs 16 lakh.
With the help of this machine, accurate diagnosis and treatment of about 800 animals has been done so far, which has saved lakhs of rupees for the regional livestock farmers. Earlier, where livestock farmers had to go to big cities like Ludhiana for disease diagnosis, today the same facilities are available locally.
* Made possible by the continuous efforts of the Deputy Chief Minister
It is worth mentioning that the multi-functional veterinary hospital was established due to the tireless efforts of Deputy Chief Minister Mukesh Agnihotri. He has made continuous efforts from time to time for the upgradation and modernization of this institute under the able leadership of Chief Minister Thakur Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu. The institute has been equipped with excellent services by appointing state-of-the-art medical equipment and expert veterinary staff in the hospital.
