On this occasion, Sarpanch Kulwinder Singh of the village said that the condition of the road going to Dharamgarh is very bad and the life of Dharamgarh residents has become miserable due to the garbage dump built by the Municipal Corporation on this road. He demanded that the garbage dump be removed from here and the road going from Phase 11 to Dharamgarh be repaired so that the residents of Dharamgarh can breathe a sigh of relief.
A large number of villagers including Panch Gian Singh, Gurpal Singh, Mohan Singh, Harpreet Singh, Manjinder Singh participated in this protest. A large number of residents from village Kambali, led by Amarjit Singh and Amrik Singh, joined the protest.
The police and the administration were in a difficult position due to the protesters stopping road traffic and seizing the opportunity, the SHO of Phase 11 arranged a meeting between the protesters and the SDM of Mohali, during which the SDM assured the villagers that appropriate action would be taken to resolve their problems.
In this regard, the SDM Mohali had invited the protesters for a meeting today (August 18) at 3 pm, which the villagers accepted and ended the protest.
However, today when a delegation of villagers reached the District Administrative Complex to meet the SDM Mohali, the meeting could not take place as the SDM Mohali had gone for some important work. On this occasion, village Panch Gian Singh said that if the administration does not take necessary action to solve this problem of the villagers, then they will intensify the struggle.
Meanwhile, Phase Municipal Corporation Councilor Mr. Kulwant Singh Kler said that he supports the protest by the residents of Dharamgarh and Kambali villages to shift this garbage plant built at this place and to solve this problem, it is necessary that all the victims come together and struggle against the Municipal Corporation and the administration so that this problem can be solved.
