Mahilpur- Giving further impetus to the ongoing campaign against drugs, a special meeting was held at Khalsa College Mahilpur today. The meeting was chaired by the Deputy Speaker of Punjab Vidhan Sabha and MLA from Garhshankar.
On this occasion, Special Secretary Sports S.P. Anant, Additional Deputy Commissioner (General) Amarbir Kaur Bhullar, SDM Sanjeev Gore, SP Navneet Kaur Gill, Joint Director Sports Ajit Pal Singh, Deputy Director Sports Sukhchain Singh, District Sports Officer Gurpreet Singh, Assistant Director Youth Services Preet Kohli and other officials were also present.
The Deputy Speaker announced that 'Shaheed-e-Azam Bhagat Singh National Marathon' will be organized on 27th September 2025 at Khalsa College, Mahilpur. This marathon will be dedicated to the 118th birth anniversary of Shaheed-e-Azam Bhagat Singh.
He said that this event will give a strong message against drugs and will be a big effort to motivate the youth towards sports. He said that this marathon is an important link in the anti-drug campaign being run by Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann.
The aim of this event is to increase patriotism, fitness and interest in sports among the youth. Thousands of athletes from across the country will participate in the marathon and attractive prizes will be given to the winners. Along with this, a cultural program will also be organized. On this occasion, special honors will also be given in the name of 'Shaheed Bhagat Singh Sports Icon Punjab'.
Deputy Speaker, PRO of Punjab Vidhan Sabha Mohit Attri, SRF Foundation, Principal of Khalsa College Mahilpur Harvinder Singh and Principal of Harbhajan Singh Sports Club and other representatives also participated in the meeting.
