Children of Bathlana School took oath to protect plants.

Nagar, July 15- Apart from the ongoing Van Utsav program in the state, social organization Paryog Foundation took a new initiative and took a pledge from the children of Government Middle Smart School, Bathlana to grow saplings into trees and started a “Selfie with Tree” campaign in the school.

During the program organized in the courtyard of the school, District Youth Club Coordination Committee President Hardeep Singh Bathlana said that today it is more important to take care of the plants than to plant them. He told that with the help of Paryog Foundation, more than a dozen fruit plants have been planted, which include jamun, mango, guava, pomegranate etc.
During the program, social worker Pooja Jaiswal said that school children will adopt one plant each in groups of two. After taking care of the plant for six months, every month the children will take a selfie with the plant and send it to Paryog Foundation.
After this, on 26 January, on the occasion of Republic Day, after inspecting the plants, the children who take better care of them will be awarded and plaques with their names will be placed in front of the trees, so that the children coming here in future can get inspired by this.
Sanjiv Sharma, President of Paryog Foundation, said that the children of class VII and VIII in the school have been entrusted with the responsibility of taking care of the plants. On this occasion, social worker Pawan Kumar, Sarpanch of Bathlana village Harpal Singh, former Sarpanch Wazir Singh, Gyani Nirmal Singh, Baljit Singh, Mohan Singh (contractor), Jarnail Singh, Surmukh Singh, Nagar Singh, Manpreet Singh, representatives of Paryog Foundation District Mohali Davinder Singh and Gursharan Singh, as well as middle school teachers Jaswinder Kaur, Abha Mehta, Mamta, and primary school teachers Pooja and Harpreet Kaur were present.
